Perfect Prom Checklist

Spring is already here, and prom season will soon be upon us. If you’re having your school leavers ball this year, there are a lot of things that you’ll need to consider well in advance to ensure that you have the time of your lives!

At Swift Travel, we’re here to help you have the best time possible, so here is our checklist that will help you on the way to the perfect prom.

Dressing to Impress

When it comes to prom, one of the most important things you’ll have to sort out is what you’re going to wear. Be warned, this can take some time.

For girls, you’ll want to start looking for your dress about a month or so before the prom date. This will give you plenty of time to find the perfect dress to suit your budget and style, and, most importantly, something that you’re completely happy with.

Once you’ve found the dress, you can figure out the rest. Most girls will be wearing heels to their prom, but don’t forget that you’ll have to be comfortable if you want to dance the night away! A low to mid-range heel is usually best. When it comes to colours, you can clash, match or simply go for a nude tone, it’s completely up to you.

Guys will want to suit up, and although you may feel like putting this off until the last minute, that’s not always the best idea. You may want to buy your suit, in which case you have the option of being measured and having a suit tailor-made to fit you. Alternatively, you can hire the suit you want just for the event, which will save you a considerable amount of money. Finish off your outfit with some smart shoes and a tie and you’ll be ready for the prom.

Photo Opportunities

It’s your big night, and you’re going to want plenty of photos to remember it by. Before heading to the prom, get all your best friends over and take some pictures together in the garden, the house, the park, or wherever you like.

It’s very likely that there will be professional photos being taken at the actual event, but you don’t want these to be the only photos you have of the night, as some companies can charge quite a lot for copies of the photos. Take a camera with you to the venue, or simply take your smartphone for plenty of selfies.

To remember the night, some people like to make a scrapbook or photo collage that you can display in your bedroom. If you’d like to do this, make sure you take plenty of your own photos and ask your friends to send you theirs, as this will allow you to perfectly document the event.

Arrive in Style

There won’t be a prom at all if you can’t get there. Of course, your parents can drive you to the venue, but if you want to have your own party on the way to the venue, why not hire a party bus?

A party bus means that you can arrive with all your friends and get the party started that much sooner. Enjoy yourselves by dancing to music, laughing, taking photos and enjoying the amazing experience that the party has to offer.

Hiring a party bus to get to the prom venue will also reassure your parents that you’ll arrive safely, without having to drive you themselves. Better yet, it’ll give you the freedom and independence you want on your prom night.

Have Fun

The most important thing you have to do on your prom night is to have fun! If you’re leaving school, you can celebrate the new chapter in your life that’s just beginning, and enjoy your first steps into adulthood. If you’re staying on for sixth form or going to university, enjoy this night out with your school friends, especially those you may not see for a while.

We hope you enjoyed reading our perfect prom checklist and that you have a great prom.
